Job Title: Founding / Lead Machine Learning Engineer
Salary: $200,000 - $250,000
Location: San Francisco, CA, (Remote but must live locally)
A well-funded and profitable Series A startup is opening a brand new division within their company focused on talking head avatars. As this is an entirely new division, this role is for a Founding ML Engineer for this team, having a team of two other Machine Learning Engineers that would work with/under you. This position provides excellent autonomy and the ability to shape the way these new products are built and have a direct relationship with the CEO and Head of Engineering. For this role, you will need previous professional experience with talking head avatars. This role is entirely image/video based using motion and movement to match the heads to different speech patterns, languages, and emotions. This role is NOT 3D/Graphics based, rather they are looking for someone who has experience with Neural Rendering, Diffusion, and/or Generative AI to animate the video faces. You will have extensive say in the approach to building this system, so prior experience is required. For tech stack they heavily use Python and PyTorch.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Diffusion Models or Neural Rendering in the Generative space
- Experience building Avatars (talking head or facial generation)
- Ability to build models from scratch and lead a small team
