Serve as an Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialist with responsibility for analyzing, planning, designing, implementing, documenting, assessing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems throughout the Air Force Enterprise in support of the AF cyber mission.
- The work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station. An official passport is required.
- The employee may be required to travel on military or commercial aircraft.
- Overtime and/or emergency overtime may be required.
- Incumbent will abide by local safety regulations, when TDY status, to include wearing of special safety clothing and equipment.
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- Must be able to acquire and retain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI access in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. The position includes
information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve Technical, Level II IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification will result in removal from this position.
- Position is Telework eligible.
Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSA)
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture components to include principles, methods, and best practices required to sufficiently plan, coordinate, troubleshoot, analysis, standardize, and optimize various enterprise systems enhancing functionality and performance.
- Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of AF enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise performance tools, data analysis, and troubleshooting methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems operational functions.
- Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of enterprise
system components sufficient to analyze, troubleshoot, test, and modify those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of enterprise IT systems.
- Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex enterprise problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both technical and non-technical methods both orally and in writing.
