Job Description:
HMHAI is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Interior Designer to support our design team in addressing a variety
of residential design challenges. This role involves working directly with the Director of Interior Design and
Senior Architects to enhance our clients’ spaces while staying true to their vision and requirements. We
are seeking a candidate with at least 3 years of experience – someone capable of supporting our senior
design team immediately while growing into a role of managing projects independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in interior design assignments, including conceptual design, schematic design, and design development, as well as the preparation of construction documents and administration.
- Collaborate with the architectural team to support integrated interior architectural solutions.
- Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents under the guidance of senior designers.
- Select color palettes, materials, and furnishings, providing detailed specifications under the guidance of Lead Interior Designer.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation.
- Track order details and manage project timelines.
- Produce drawings and assist with logistical coordination.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- 3-7 years of professional design experience in a collaborative environment, with experience in client-centered design concepts.
- Proficient in design software such as Archicad, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable in drafting methodology and standards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and redline shop drawings and specification sheets.
- Strong understanding of furniture specifications, architectural material applications, and interior detailing, including architectural finishes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
Skill Sets:
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in producing drawings and managing logistics.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite and other modeling software programs is preferred.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team.
