The Graphic Designer will be a key team member in designing and developing key art and packaging for physical home media (DVD, Blu-ray™) and digital streaming releases. Working cross-functionally with the DS Brand Studio team, digital and marketing teams - their work will have visibility across the company, in marketing/social media content, distributed to external partners, and displayed to consumers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Key art creation for movie and TV series releases including theatrical, physical media, and digital streaming
· Design packaging materials including wraps, o-cards, disc art, slipcases, & special packaging (ex. SteelBook)
· Digital key art versioning to meet all endpoint specs
· Work with contacts to acquire assets from studios and producers (ex. Universal, Sony Pictures, Mattel)
· Organize project folders and the graphics server for proper backup and archiving of work
· Collect and package completed files to spec and deliver to print manufacturers and digital platforms
· Create additional content for marketing, social media, video production, and digital platforms as needed
· Coordinate with marketing managers for proofing, approvals, and licensor notes while ensuring delivery timelines are met
· Contribute to copy writing (taglines, synopses) and assist in the development of sales materials when required
Qualifications
· Over 5 years’ experience in graphic design, illustration, or product / packaging design
· Expert/Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud (ex. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
· Proficiency working on Mac-based systems
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy required with pro-active, problem-solving mindset
· Previous work experience with prepress and ability to communicate with vendors
· Experience with project management software (ex. Asana, Basecamp)
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams (ex. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
· Knowledge of CMS (content management system) platforms/databases is a plus
· Interest in movies, TV, comics, pop culture and awareness of industry trends preferred
This role is part of the DS Brand Studio team. The position reports to the Creative Director and works closely with the Director of Marketing Services who oversees DS Brand Studio workflows.
