Position Summary
This is a highly exciting opportunity to help build out a new property & casualty claim data production and monitoring process within a large organization; responsibilities fall within three main areas: 1) monitor key processes relating to claims data intake and processing to ensure everything is working as expected, 2) play a key role in the collection, cleansing, governance, and dissemination of claims data underlying business written by Ryan Specialty, and 3) assist monitoring of claims activity, being the first set of eyes on reports that may include communication and awareness across the company.
The Claims Data Analyst will develop a deep understanding of the company’s claims process, systems, and product portfolios to ensure efficiency, conceptualize viable and value-add initiatives, and help strategize business solutions. The role will work closely with the Claims Analyst Lead to provide end-users easy access to claims data, allow management to monitor key production metrics, apprise leadership of key risks and opportunities, and embed a culture of claim awareness across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee the productionized claim data process to ensure smooth operations and provide input to help continuously improve operational procedures, eliminate redundancies, and drive long-term business value
- Partner with the actuarial development & operations team in the successful implementation of a claim data process, including automated data collection, cleansing, centralization, and governance
- Help facilitate the reporting process and dashboard environment for claims data, including development, modification, maintenance, and distribution of standard reports and dashboards
- Create ad hoc reports, analyses, and data sets to identify and solve business problems
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and develop solutions to support business goals
- Assist in the onboarding process to add new data sources to the claims database, suggesting or approving changes to increase efficiency
- Produce documentation of existing and new processes, helping to ensure information availability and the scalability of the project
Required
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of relevant experience (Claims adjuster, analyst, developer)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of claim processes and analytics
- Strong business attitude, including written/verbal communication and time management skills
- Detailed-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to multi-task across projects/requests, work well under time demands
- Highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively independently and within a team
- Ability to work collaboratively with non-technical, senior insurance professionals
Desired
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, particularly the specialty insurance sector.
- Knowledge and/or familiarity with actuarial practices, processes, or modeling.
- Strong business acumen.
- Knowledgeable to Proficient with data manipulation, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, MS Excel, Power BI)

The target salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $81,375.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
