Job Description Summary:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the cloud and on-prem network infrastructure to ensure the stability, availability and integrity of all data services.
This is a Hybrid position based in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implement and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, remote access systems, security appliances, wireless systems, Internet connections and private line services both in the cloud Azure/AWS instances and the organization’s physical locations.
- Participate in root cause analysis and recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve reliability and functionality
- Design, configure, maintain, and manage network security features to achieve optimal performance, maximum availability, minimal maintenance, and reasonable costs
- Assist in data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
- Engineer security solutions and standards based on requirements, best practices, and technical knowledge
- Work alongside other internal IT teams to develop solutions, processes, standards, and best practices that provide optimal business solutions
- Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting solutions
- Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans
- Assist in creating materials for end-user documentation and frequently asked questions
- Stay current on latest trends in cloud technologies and systems
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5+ years experience in the Information Technology field as a network engineer or similar position
- Experience with Azure Networking Services and/or Amazon Virtual Private Cloud or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Experience with Firewalls (Cisco and Palo Alto preferred)
- Experience with SD-WAN (Viptela preferred)
- Experience with IDS/IPS
- Experience with IaaS, PaaS, SDN, and other emerging/developing networking technologies
- In-Depth knowledge of TCP/IP addressing and standards including network design, firewall configuration, load balancing, remote access, strong authentication, vulnerability scanning, VPN and DMZ management
- Understanding of common security protocols such as Kerberos, RADIUS, RSA, TACACS+, SSL, TLS, PKI, IPSEC, etc
- Strong understanding of networking infrastructure components including routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, IDS and IPS
- Customer escalation and conflict resolution skills required
- Resource planning and mitigation management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

$88,960.00 - $111,200.00
