Job Overview: The IT Director will oversee all aspects of the company’s IT operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise. Reporting directly to the CFO, the IT Director will be responsible for managing a small IT team, leading the corporate IT strategy, and overseeing cybersecurity measures to protect the company’s assets.
Compensation: $140-160k with an annual bonus.
Logistics: 3 days per week in their Chicago (suburbs) office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance business efficiency and growth.
- Identify emerging technology trends and recommend solutions to improve IT infrastructure and services.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of all IT systems and applications.
- Manage IT budgets, including cost-effective procurement of hardware, software, and services.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct regular security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure the protection of company data, networks, and systems against internal and external threats.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small IT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team on complex IT issues.
- Coordinate with other departments to understand and support their IT needs.
- Act as a technical leader, able to troubleshoot complex IT issues and implement solutions directly when needed.
- Participate in the deployment, configuration, and management of IT systems and networks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT management roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in IT strategy development and implementation.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as network management, server administration, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
- Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a small team, while also being able to execute technical tasks directly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the manufacturing or telecommunications industry.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
