Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in bioinformatics, with expertise in secondary cell wall gene research (relevant to cotton cell improvement).
- Experience working with large datasets and developing algorithms to extract biological insights.
- Strong background in data management, integration, and high-throughput phenomics for gene identification.
- Proven ability to identify genetic engineering targets using bioinformatics approaches.
- Experience in plant bioinformatics, particularly with secondary cell wall genes in biofuel-related grasses.
- Proficient in Python, R, and genomic annotation tools.
- Developed and implemented Quality Control (QC) systems for cell lines, utilizing phenomics to identify optimal cell lines.
Soft Skills:
- Leadership experience managing a team of data scientists and software engineers, integrating data science into scientific workflows.
- Ability to mentor and guide data scientists, especially in AI system development and data standardization.
- Strong communication skills, effectively presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
