Job Responsibilities
Acts as administrator for Oracle database and server environments. This includes the design, deployment, and support of all Oracle servers and applications. Installs and configures Oracle databases and ensure database integrity and security. Assists with managing the Oracle database environment using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Acts as administrator for Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). This includes the design, deployment, and support of Oracle Enterprise Manager. Uses OEM to ensure proper and efficient configuration and support of all Oracle databases.
Acts as an administrator for SCDOT's Oracle data backup/restoration environment. This includes using Oracle RMAN to manage backup data and logs. Provides development environment and support for SCDOT's applications development staff. This includes deploying and maintaining a test/dev/prd server environments.
Acts as an administrator for SCDOT's Oracle Weblogic server environment. This includes the deployment and support of Oracle Weblogic Server for vendor and SCDOT applications. Provides technical support to SCDOT and third party application developers. This includes assistance with problem diagnosis and resolution for Oracle databases and applications. This includes the installation and support of Oracle development tools including client software. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and two (2) years of work experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, or the support of database management systems; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
