Senior Data Engineer – Analytica Consulting

Analytica Consulting (http://www.analyticaconsulting.com) is a leading data analytics consulting firm that partners with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to transform data into meaningful insights. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were the primary data firm supporting the Governor of California’s COVID-19 data task force, building critical infrastructure to support the state’s pandemic response and data-driven decision-making.

Beyond our work with the Governor’s Office, we have led data engineering initiatives for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), building advanced systems to improve regulatory oversight. We also support the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in modernizing their public health data infrastructure, as well as leading data efforts for organizations like ASML, Becton Dickinson, SMUD, and Palomar.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Snowflake, DBT, Databricks and similar technologies. This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in California to facilitate in-person collaboration and mentorship opportunities.

What You’ll Do

Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and business insights that support strategic decision-making for our clients.
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data architecture to enable scalable and efficient data solutions.
Implement data models and storage solutions using cloud-based platforms like Snowflake and Databricks to support analytics and reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, design database structures, and implement robust solutions tailored to business needs.
Manage client relationships, gathering requirements to ensure the successful delivery of data engineering and analytics solutions.

Your Background

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required.
Master’s Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, including data architecture and cloud-based solutions.
3+ years of consulting experience in delivering data solutions to clients.
Expertise and/or certification in some or all of the following technologies: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, Tableau, Microsoft BI (SSIS/SSAS, SQL Server, Power BI).
Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, C#, or Java.
Strong communication skills for effectively managing client expectations and delivering technical solutions.
Snowflake Certification preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
