The Azure Solutions Architect will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing our cloud infrastructure and resources within Azure. They will ensure the effective deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud services and applications, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Azure services, CI/CD practices, containerization, and scripting.
The Architect will ensure the robustness, security, and efficiency of cloud infrastructure, contributing to the seamless operation and growth of our Health Data Platform technology landscape. They will drive the development and implementation of best practices in cloud management and security, supporting our mission to deliver outstanding services and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Resources Management: Oversee the lifecycle of Azure resources, including patching, upgrading, and creation of new infrastructure elements. Remediate policy violations, manage resource cleanup and archival, and use Terraform for resource management and provisioning. Ensuring adherence to Azure resource policies and best practices is crucial, including disaster recovery, backups, and monitoring/alerts setup.
Deployment and Support: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using YAML for streamlined deployments. Handle support requests, including deployments, access grants, and other Azure-related tasks, ensuring high levels of operational excellence and security.
Standards and Documentation: Establish and maintain monitoring standards aligned with IT policies, and document system infrastructure comprehensively. This includes maintaining sensors and monitors and aggregating and creating documentation to support system integrity and knowledge sharing.
System Security: Proactively address system vulnerabilities through tools like Dependabot, audit system access, and respond to security requests. The role involves both
Required Experience, Skills and Technology Qualifications
KUBERNETES
– Developed and implemented Kubernetes/AKS, ECS, Docker and containerized solution architectures with advanced engineering concepts around security, segmentation, vulnerability and image scanning, and integration with third-party tools like Sysdig Falco, Calico, Service Mesh etc.
AZURE Cloud Infrastructure and Security
– Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
· Knowledge of Azure and Cloud Computing concepts (preferred experience with Azure Landing Zones, Terraform and Azure DevOps.
· Understand how to management and troubleshooting on Kubernetes.
· Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server and associated technologies (Active Directory, Exchange etc.)
· Understanding of IP Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
· One or more container orchestration management experience (e.g. Docker, OpenShift Kubernetes)
· Troubleshooting skills at multiple levels of complexity.
Terraform/ Cloud Formation
– Expertise using Terraform and Cloud Formation
CI/CD ENABLEMENT
– Experience with one or more DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible)
· Programming experience with one or more scripting language (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Node.JS)
· One or more version control platform (e.g. Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC)
- Salary Range: 160,000 - 185,000 annually depending on experience.
