The IT Program Manager is responsible for co-ordinating the effective and efficient delivery of projects that support the ambition, growth and operation of the Project Foundry demonstrating exceptional hands-on Project Management skills but also have outstanding Management skills in leading a team of project managers, business analysts, external partners and 3rd party suppliers. This role will work collaboratively across all sectors of IT and the organisation to ensure project management standards and frameworks are followed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Overall responsibility for IT Project activity across the organisation.
- Develop and agree objectives for the department.
- Line manage direct reports in the day-to-day administration of the programmes and support them in the personal and professional development.
- Implement best practice programme management vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid the improve business performance that have been defined by EPMO (Enterprise Project Management Office)
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Ensure idea, project initiation and business case creation has been completed.
- Encourage a partnership approach to work across the organisation, partners and 3rd parties.
- Lead multi-disciplined teams to deliver complex/high profile programmes of activity.
- Manage the skillsets, deployment and utilisation of the team within the programme.
- Ensure appropriate communication channels are in place and effective between you and your direct reports.
- To define, supervise, control and close the programme in compliance with standards and framework defined by EPMO.
- Identify issues and risks affecting programme delivery and propose actions to address or mitigate these.
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Ensure effective project control, change management, risk management, budgets, resources and testing processes are developed, implemented and maintained across the portfolio.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively, negotiating competing priorities and coordinating activities across the organisation.
- Ensure that the activities of project delivery are safe and that they comply with applicable legislation and regulation.
- Maintain appropriate internal and external networks.
- Strong relationships with IT teams to ensure that services are delivered in a collaborative approach.
- Ensure that all the appropriate quality systems are in place for the work of Project Delivery.
- Document and update key programme team processes and templates for continuous operational review and improvement.
- Provide clear communication and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
- Responsible for achieving budget and forecast
- Produce and monitor budgets for all programme activities
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Ensure that appropriate evidence of materials provided is recorded on the appropriate project control documentation.
