Overview

The Data Engineer/Modeller/Architect plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the organization's data infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring data availability, reliability, and accessibility for various stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from multiple sources.
Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support the organization's data requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop solutions to support data-driven initiatives.
Optimize data processing and storage for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and maintain data architecture blueprints that align with business objectives and technology strategy.
Implement data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and tools related to data engineering and modeling.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning for data infrastructure.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs and analytical workloads.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in data engineering, data modeling, or data architecture roles.
Proficiency in ETL processes, tools, and techniques.
Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, or other relevant languages.
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
Deep understanding of data modeling techniques, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with machine learning principles and techniques is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is desirable.
Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Certifications in data engineering, data modeling, or relevant areas are a plus.
