We are actively seeking a Vice President of Housing Placement Services (VP of HPS) to assume this newly established role. The ideal applicant will be a seasoned leader with a penchant for innovation and exceptional team-building skills. In your capacity as VP of HPS, you will manage the housing placement services team, collaborating closely with various departments to advance our mission. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Programs, you will hold substantial decision-making authority in the oversight of daily operations within housing placement services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Programs to refine and develop the housing department, consistently pursuing performance enhancements.
- Lead a team comprising two managers, one Housing Specialist, and indirectly supervise four additional housing staff across three transitional housing facilities.
- Cultivate and leverage existing relationships with real estate agents, brokers, property owners, and third-party management firms to advance our housing initiatives.
- Negotiate lease agreements with landlords and real estate management entities.
- Organize and facilitate connections between special populations and available housing opportunities.
- Oversee the completion and submission of various subsidy applications, including CityFHEPS, SOTA, Section 8, and supportive housing applications.
- Employ internal metrics and DHS CARES for effective housing program management.
- Generate insightful reports on program outcomes and engage in continuous program evaluation and improvement.
- Coordinate client services, including apartment viewings, inspections, and move-outs.
- Ensure that all clients are registered in NYC Housing Connect.
- Collaborate with affordable and supportive housing staff to assist clients eligible for our supportive housing programs.
- Participate in crisis management as required.
- Submit weekly reports to DHS.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills

- Familiarity with NYC housing programs and regulations is essential
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of experience in placing individuals experiencing homelessness into permanent housing, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with populations such as the formerly incarcerated, individuals facing substance abuse issues, mental health challenges, or those living with AIDS is highly desirable.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary for this role is up to $115,000.
