Project Manager – Cash Management & Payments
Location: New York City (5 Days Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term | Project running through 2026
Overview:
Seeking an experienced project manager with strong expertise in cash management and payments to join their team. The role involves leading the USD Acceleration Program and managing the Global Banking IT (GBIT) activities related to this project. The successful candidate will oversee project governance, coordination, and delivery of critical milestones. This position requires someone with over 10 years of project management and business analysis experience, especially in the banking sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
Lead and coordinate GB IT activities under the USD Acceleration Program.
Manage and implement the BNP Paribas SDLC and support overall program governance.
Participate in the Project Taskforce to develop the Target Operating Model (TOM), product roadmap, and client action plans.
Project Planning & Governance:
Create and manage project governance, ensuring full visibility to senior management on progress, risks, and issues.
Develop detailed project plans for prioritized projects, aligning with the overall strategy and roadmap.
Track project risks and issues and provide regular updates to senior management.
Maintain strong project documentation, including status reports, risk registers, and change requests.
Financial Management:
Manage project budgets, tracking actual spend versus budget, and ensuring cost efficiency.
Prepare financial forecasts and report on project financials to key stakeholders.
Testing & Implementation:
Coordinate test planning and execution, ensuring that all project deliverables meet quality standards.
Oversee the implementation of tasks including deployment planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live activities.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate closely with BNP Paribas GB IT Management and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Serve as a primary point of contact for taskforce members, business units, and external vendors.
Manage stakeholder expectations, balancing competing priorities to deliver successful outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
10+ years of experience as a project manager and business analyst.
Strong background in cash management, payments, and global banking operations.
Proven experience working in the banking and financial services industry.
Previous consulting experience is preferred, demonstrating an ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder projects.
Technical & Business Knowledge:
Understanding of general banking processes and IT systems within a financial institution.
Familiarity with project governance frameworks and ability to manage full SDLC.
Skills:
Strong project planning, budgeting, and governance skills.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with a track record of delivering clear status reports to management.
Demonstrated ability to manage risks, issues, and budgets across large-scale projects.
Skilled in test planning, execution, and managing implementation tasks.
Soft Skills:
Proven leadership abilities with a focus on delivering results in high-pressure environments.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to collaborate across teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
