Job description:
Sitting/working between IT and the business will have some techno-functional work and need to have good communication and stakeholder skills as well as technical
Working on domain called ITEM (Inspection Technologies Engineering and Manufacturing)
Never had a data role in that business line and need help for team there)
ITEM is mostly handling parts for plane builds and the data from this is used by several different departments and is a part of broader engineering/manufacturing division
Work will entail meeting with stakeholders and centralizing alignment and then standardize the data, doing data quality analysis, and then evaluating what issues/problems may need to be addressed and working through
If systems problem (deal with internal IT), if it is an issue with information being captured correctly but not good enough then work with business stakeholders to change the way it is being documented so they will help with that as well, or for just fixing more queries etc. they will cover that themselves
Goal: Responsible for data clean-up, data management, and data analysis
They are working to build analytics solution still for something they can use/view but this person wont necessarily be doing reporting/dashboarding work in the current state
Data is coming from 6-7 different sources (most in Oracle) but all currently flowing into the Redshift data lake (Right now tables connected directly to Redshift versus source systems) this person will need to work on source systems likely to fix the data flow but will initially be focusing on the data already in RedShift (nearly real-time)
They will not be directly managing changes to the data but will need to be able to do querying and joins to pull correct data (will not be building stored procedures, creating tables, etc.)
Nice to haves/Preferred Skills:
Apache Spark (use this for data processing but also for their basic dashboarding)
Informatica (data/ETL team can help with this but understanding the governance, building glossaries, etc. all of these are things this person may be involved in with the platform)
Python nice to have for scripting but Python/JAVA are not requirements
