We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented
Benefits Analyst to join our Benefits and Wellbeing Team; the position may be located in our
Century City office . The Benefits Analyst under the direction of the Senior Benefits & Wellbeing Manager will play a key role in managing and administering our firmwide benefit plans and programs.
The Benefits Analyst will work closely with the Benefits and Living Well teams to ensure the firm’s benefits and wellness plans remain compliant and competitive. This position will oversee our international plans and provide analytical support and data analysis. In addition, this position will take the lead on various annual enrollments working closely with HRIS to identify opportunities for improvement and business processes in Workday.
The salary range in CA for this role is
$105,000 - $115,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
Vendor Management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple benefit vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance with a focus on partner/employee satisfaction.
- Ability to work within a vendor partner’s internal infrastructure to escalate unresolved issues that occur at their local team level.
- Liaise between internal business partners (HRIS and Payroll) and external vendors to ensure appropriate benefit deliverables (i.e., data for vendor integrations) and timely exchange of accurate information.
- Monitor weekly carrier feeds, resolve any inconsistencies, and manage carrier discrepancy reports.
Compliance And Policy
- Monitor and manage the firm’s internal compliance calendar related to all applicable federal, state, and local statutes/laws.
- Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and develop policies that align with the firm’s goals and objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Manage the information and data collection needed to ensure compliance with all applicable statutes/laws, i.e., 5500 process and reporting.
- Oversee the annual ACA reporting with HRIS, including distribution of required notices.
- Managing the annual non-discrimination testing for the firm's cafeteria plans, including correction processing by payroll and Workday
- Review and distribute our annual Summary Annual Review (SAR).
- Work with Senior Management on SPDs and Wrap documents.
- Reporting and Analytics
- Provide custom reports and data analyses related to employee benefits utilization, cost, and trends,
- Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage vendor monthly invoice process including reconciliation and audit functions.
- Work closely with AP and partner payroll to ensure reconciliation of partner benefits and premiums, including funding and corrections.
- Perform audits and other duties as assigned.
Annual Enrollment And Communications
- Support the Benefits Team in leading the annual enrollment process, including communications and benefit updates.
- Provide census data for various annual enrollments.
- Lead weekly Benefits/HRIS meetings to ensure ongoing project management.
- Oversee partner benefits orientations (new hire/promotions)
- Periodically monitor the benefits inbox during annual enrollments.
- Manage the retiree annual enrollment and communication process.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance and assistance with benefits-related questions, concerns, and issues.
- Assist in the planning and attending of the firm's on-site benefits and wellness fairs.
Qualifications, Skills, And Experience
- An undergraduate degree preferred in Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent work history.
- Minimum of five years benefits analyst/administration experience is preferred, preferably at a law firm or professional services organization.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), CBP from WorldatWork, or another benefits-specific certification is a plus.
- Experience with Workday, or similar HRIS preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, sound reasoning and judgment, and a focused attention to detail.
- Works effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, fast-paced, and diverse environment with multiple and changing demands.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
- Effective client servicing skills; ability to work well with internal business partners and management to build strong relationships at all levels of the firm.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FMLA, and similar state and local laws.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
