Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer / Database Administrator to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. This position will involve collaborating with a key client to manage their MySQL database and support infrastructure and DevOps operations. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in database management, performance enhancement, and DevOps methodologies, while delivering exceptional support in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and maintenance of MySQL 8 databases deployed on-premise.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities, including backups, recovery tests, and performance tuning.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues to ensure optimal uptime and data integrity.
- Employ indexing techniques and query optimizations to improve performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the client's managed service provider to synchronize maintenance efforts.
- Establish and configure performance monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
- Proactively monitor database performance and resource consumption.
- Maintain deployment pipelines and manage Git repositories effectively.
- Provide foundational support for web infrastructure, including NGINX and VPN-secured sites.
- Implement two-factor authentication and enhance website security protocols.
- Respond to emergency support requests outside standard hours with a rapid response commitment.
- Prioritize urgent support during business hours, ensuring prompt resolution within set timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to clarify project requirements.
- Document all configurations, modifications, and procedures for comprehensive knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL (preferably version 8 or higher) with proven experience in tuning, troubleshooting, and data backup processes.
- Strong grasp of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and configuration management techniques.
- Familiarity with both on-premises server environments and leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions such as Datadog or New Relic.
- Proficient in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Understanding of web technologies and best practices for two-factor authentication security.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and adeptness in issue diagnosis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a Database Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
