Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer (Contractor)

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer Contractor to join our team and help ensure the reliability, performance, security, and exceptional user experience of our applications. As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in testing our software products, identifying issues, and collaborating closely with developers and product managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, has exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and is passionate about quality in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, document, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for web-based applications.

• Perform manual and automated testing of web applications to ensure functionality, performance, and security meet specifications.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and user stories.

• Identify, document, and track bugs and defects in a timely manner using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub Issues).

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, usability, and performance testing on new features and updates to ensure they meet acceptance criteria.

• Implement and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

• Participate in requirement reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality risks.

• Advocate for best practices in software quality assurance and help foster a culture of continuous improvement in testing processes.

• Ensure compliance with best practices, industry standards and regulatory requirements, especially in the biotech and healthcare sectors.

• Provide feedback to developers and product teams to help improve software design and architecture.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging testing tools/techniques to enhance testing efficiency.

• Provide clear and regular status updates and reports to the project team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.

• Proven experience testing web-based applications.

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Experience in web application testing and cross-browser compatibility testing.

• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

• Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a plus.

• Experience in the biotech or healthcare industry is highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., FDA regulations, HIPAA compliance).

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
