Job Title: Data Analyst/ Data Engineer III
Duration: Contract to Hire
Location: Remote (Candidates located near an office may opt to work on-site if desired. Open to candidates nationwide.)
Position Overview:
The primary project involves migrating an Operational Metrics dashboard from Tableau to Power BI. This will also include transitioning the backend database from the existing SQL Server to either Teradata or Snowflake. While this is primarily a lift-and-shift project, there will be opportunities to enhance the data and/or dashboard with additional details or functionality. The selected candidate will work closely with a team to shift data loads to the new database technology and improve the data model by incorporating additional data sources. They will also be responsible for building a new dashboard that maintains the original functionality while accommodating the differences in tools.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily team activities and sprint planning based on a JIRA backlog of tasks.
- Shift data loads to the new database technology and enhance the data model.
- Build and refine the new dashboard, ensuring it aligns with project requirements.
- Track task completeness and quality throughout the sprint cycles.
First Day Activities:
- General onboarding to familiarize with the company’s networking environment.
- Verify computer setup and network access to all necessary authorization roles.
- Introduction to various software packages used within the organization.
- Overview of the project, including insights into the existing product and required training.
Previous Job Titles or Background:
Candidates with experience in Data Engineering or Data Visualization roles that involve similar projects or skills will be considered.
