How You’ll Make An Impact
As a Network Engineer Intern, you’ll work with full-timers to learn how we maintain and build critical infrastructure to support the Sirius XM and Pandora technology platform. In addition, you will help support the wireless network inside our office and studio environments where our great content is created. Invent, design, and build network, systems, and processes that are stable, redundant, and performant
What You’ll Do
Work with internal and cross-functional teams to complete network projects based on prioritizations. Assist in the operations of the Sirius XM Pandora 24/7 network. Help build the next generation of media consumption platform.
On Any Given Day, You Might Be
- Working on cross-team projects such as office network upgrades and data center consolidations
- Troubleshooting network routing, switching, and wireless protocols
- Provisioning SSL certificates for listener facing services
- Automating support tasks and improving the team’s ability to monitor the network
What You’ll Need
- Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2026 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
- Currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, network engineering or other technical disciplines.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as troubleshooting basics (e.g., ping, traceroute, curl, netstat) and routing protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
- Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, PHP, shell, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
