The SEO-Focused Content Marketing Manager is a hands-on role responsible for developing and executing company's content marketing strategy with a primary focus on SEO performance. This includes creating and managing all marketing content and SEO/SEM efforts for the company, such as product content, advertisements, blog/articles, video scripts, website copy, and emails. As the content custodian and project lead, you'll oversee digital marketing and launch campaigns, ensuring quality deliverables and measurable SEO results. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, digital marketing, content creation, and project management, along with the ability to build consensus and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's content marketing strategy, with a particular focus on SEO-driven copywriting and SEM.
- Work closely with the product team to craft SEO-optimized marketing copy that emphasizes product attributes, advantages, and communication points.
- Write engaging, error-free marketing and advertisement copy, blog posts, articles, social media posts, and emails with target audiences and SEO best practices in mind.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of content marketing projects, ensuring all deliverables align with SEO goals.
- Collaborate with designers and other marketing/eCommerce members to create high-quality, SEO-optimized content and ensure that all marketing efforts are coordinated.
- Identify content opportunities, needs, goals, and target audience preferences, as well as align digital and content initiatives with overall business and SEO objectives.
- Act as a "communications gatekeeper," by reviewing and editing all content for style, grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation, upholding the NorthSky brand, voice, and communications standards while maintaining SEO integrity.
- Own, manage, and update the Company Marketing Content Style Guide for companywide, consistent messaging and communication delivery, both internally and externally, incorporating SEO best practices.
- Conduct ckeyword research and implement SEO techniques to optimize content for search engines and drive organic traffic growth.
- Track, analyze, and report on SEO performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to continuously improve search rankings.
Qualifications:
- Portfolio Requirement: Must present a collection of writing samples and demonstrate successful SEO case studies.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Content Marketing & SEO Expertise: Minimum of 5 years in content marketing, with a strong emphasis on SEO copywriting and demonstrated success in improving search rankings for previous employers or clients.
- SEO Mastery: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with SEO tools, notably Semrush, with proven ability to drive significant improvements in organic search visibility and traffic.
- Project Management: At least 3 years of hands-on experience, preferably with tools like Monday, Lytho, Workfront, or Jira.
- Software Proficiency: Fluent in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SEO-specific tools and analytics platforms.
- AI Familiarity: Acquaintance with AI-driven writing tools, such as ChatGPT, and ability to leverage them for SEO content creation.
- Industry-Specific Experience: Demonstrable background in B2B manufacturing & eCommerce marketing, with a track record of improving search rankings in relevant industries.
- Creativity & Branding: An innovative mindset with a sharp focus on details; capability to ideate fresh concepts while ensuring brand uniformity and SEO effectiveness across online mediums.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities to interpret SEO metrics, search trends, and user behavior to inform content strategy.
