Position Summary:
The Document Review and Proofreading Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of all written materials produced by consultants within the organization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong command of grammar, and a deep understanding of the field-specific terminology. The specialist will act as the final reviewer for documents before they are submitted to clients, upholding the organization's high standards of quality and excellence. Collaboration with consultants and case coordinators is essential to align documents with client expectations and organizational guidelines. The specialist will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback and suggestions for enhancing document processes and templates.
Essential Functions:
Document Review and Proofreading:
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in all written materials produced by consultants
- Check for grammatical errors, typographical mistakes, and ensure the correct use of terminology specific to the field.
- Review documents for grammar, spelling, tone and style.
Quality Assurance:
- Act as the final reviewer for documents before submission to clients, ensuring that all content meets the organization's high standards of excellence.
- Verify correct vehicles, dates, names, and other statements for accuracy
- Make corrections and suggest edits to the document.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with consultants and case coordinators to understand the context of the documents being reviewed, ensuring that all materials align with client expectations and organizational guidelines.
Continuous Improvement:
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving document processes and templates, helping to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s documentation practices.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field. Can be substituted for equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) style and other relevant style guides.
- Demonstrated ability to thoroughly verify information and conduct in-depth research.
- Mastery of grammar, spelling, and syntax, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and other essential software tools.
