Data Analytics – Healthcare
This is a W-2 position only (no staffing agencies or contractors). Candidates must currently reside in the U.S.
100% remote.
Core hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexible on time zones, but availability is required for 9:30 AM EST meetings.
Duties
The RWD Product Development position offers a data and analytics professional the opportunity to meaningfully impact the design and development of the Forsyth Enterprise Data Model. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Efficiently query multiple data types (e.g., medical and pharmacy claims, EMR, lab, chargemaster) using SQL to gain a deep understanding of patient and clinical activity from Forsyth data and to investigate gaps and anomalies both within and longitudinally across patient records.
Influence the data model to enable expedient and meaningful observational research.
Work with the Analytics team to develop algorithms for derived variables and metrics for inclusion in the data product.
Compile detailed requirements for data model development, and work with the Data team to implement and test the resulting datasets.
Develop vocabularies and ontologies to standardize data for both granular structured data and unstructured/free-text data, with a focus on automation and scalability.
Collaborate with the Data team to create detailed documentation for the data product, including ERDs and best practices for onboarding and maintaining licensed data.
Assist in providing RWD training, analytic guidance, and use case development and support for clients.
Continually assess new data sources, and work with internal teams to map and incorporate new data into the existing model or expand the model accordingly.
Project management and prioritization: This advisory role will support multiple projects based on the product roadmap and will collaborate with Client Solutions, Data, and Analytics teams to manage initiatives and negotiate timelines and priorities with stakeholders.
Skills
5–7 years of experience in analytics, solving complex business problems using data tools, relational databases, and analytical processes.
3–5 years of experience using SQL, programming against large relational databases leveraging linked, patient-level data at scale.
Expertise in healthcare data across various types (e.g., open/closed claims, inpatient/ambulatory EMR, commercial labs, social determinants of health) and familiarity with codified healthcare data standards (e.g., NDC, ICD, CPT, HCPCS, CVX, LOINC, NUCC, NPPES).
Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to compile and analyze information, ensure data integrity, and provide resolutions or recommendations for improving operational processes.
Excellent communication skills.
Desired: Experience applying RWD to specific healthcare and life sciences-related research questions and use cases, such as RWE/epidemiology, HEOR, R&D, commercial, and public health.
Experience with programming languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc.
Strong SQL And/or Python Skills Are Required.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and PowerBI is desired.
Experience with longitudinal patient data analysis is desired.
A data-driven personality with intellectual curiosity and internal motivation.
Bachelor’s degree is REQUIRED - preferably in a quantitative or healthcare informatics-related field
