Responsibilities: You will work closely with scientists and colleagues in our client's Media team to articulate digital advertising challenges in both mathematical and business contexts. This includes conducting exploratory data analysis to enhance your understanding of these issues, developing and fitting statistical, machine learning, or optimization models, and writing production model code in collaboration with Software Engineers to implement algorithms. You’ll also design and carry out both simulated and live experiments, analyze the resulting data, communicate your findings, and support decisions regarding product launches.
Experience: Candidates should possess a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, applied math, operations research, or engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in the ad tech industry focusing on algorithms. Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, along with a strong familiarity with advanced ad tech algorithms and foundational digital media data science models used for forecasting, attribution, and relevance. A solid grasp of applied statistics—including sampling methods, causal modeling, time series analysis, and data-mining techniques—is required. Experience with all phases of A/B testing, from design to execution, is also crucial. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with cross-functional partners to achieve business goals.
