The Digital Editor supports the content lifecycle from Word document to online publication, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy formatting, and SEO optimization. The Digital Editor is responsible for uploading content and images in WordPress for Convene online-only stories and Convene print stories in HTML. This role is also responsible for sourcing images for Convene online and print when needed, as well as for compiling and assembling two newsletters weekly across several platforms, including Pardot, producing e-dailies for Convening Leaders and edUcon. The Digital Editor contributes content to Convene print issues on a regular basis, writing PCMA Today and to other departments as well as sponsored content as assigned. This role proofs the print issue in InDesign as well as on the printer’s site along with the rest of the Convene editorial team. The Digital Editor posts the print issue files on the digital platform, oversees Convene’s presence on pcma.org, participates in two weekly Convene editorial calls and contributes to Convene’s podcast.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Proof, edit, and write as needed.
- Post online content.
- Compile and set up two weekly newsletters.
- Fact checking, follow-up with various departments and freelancers to ensure timely delivery of necessary information.
- Utilize HTML and CSS to adjust layouts, improve visual appeal, and ensure articles are mobile-responsive.
- Ensure content is clear, coherent, and free from factual inaccuracies before publication.
- Check SEO optimization, including headlines, URLs, and photo optimization.
- Implement on-page SEI best practices, including meta tags, alt texts, and keyword optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to article uploads or site performance.
- Curation and editing newsletters in Salesforce’s Pardot platform.
- Tracking site and newsletter performance and traffic through Google Analytics and Pardot’s analytics.
