Position Title:- QA Analyst - Senior
The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst works on multiple programs/systems for multiple business units. In this role, the Sr. QA Analyst is responsible for the review of all requirements mapping to test cases, test plans and test results and is a key participant in the PMO Q-Gate process. They are involved in all phases of the QA process and the implementation of quality assurance objectives, with significant emphasis on implementing continuous improvement. This includes the enforcement of current QA processes including the monitoring and evaluation of Requirement and Test deliverables. The Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst interacts with all members of the project team including architects, business analysts, system analysts, project managers, the development team and quality control team to assure successful development, testing and implementation of project requirements helping to ensure that projects meet quality deployment goals.
- Works on projects of all levels of complexity within any of the IT development environments.
- Reviews formal test plans and documented test results.
- Review of project deliverables and produces the compliance checklist.
- Monitors, evaluates and makes recommendations on QA tasks within enterprise-wide processes such as; test life cycles, change management and release management.
- Assists in creating standard operating procedures and metrics based on best practices for the QA team. Identifies and proposes areas of improvement throughout the QA process.
- Adheres to and enforces QA processes.
- Conducts investigations on identified technical and operational problems on installed networks, systems and products.
- Produces QA Root Cause Analysis document following problem investigation.
- May make recommendations regarding software defects and/or project timelines.
- Prepares, maintains and reviews documentation on all QA phases.
- Provides coaching to less-experienced individuals.
- Verifies that documented system requirements have been met.
- Supports continued evolution of QA strategies and activities supporting best practices and quality deployments.
Required Skills & Work Experience
- Demonstrated experience executing complex testing efforts involving large multi- platform environments with complex integrations and geographically dispersed teams
- Experience providing input to structured test plans and detailed test cases via analysis of complex business and technical requirements and high-level design deliverables
- Ability to prioritize testing based on risk; exposure in Testing Process Development
- Familiarity with the TPF OS
- Experience with Structured Test Planning, testing tracking software – MF ALM/Jira is preferred
- Experience in web browser-based testing, mobile device testing and database testing
- Experience in web service testing a plus.
- Experience operating in an Agile/Scrum team.
- Proficient with Atlassian Jira or other issue tracking tools.
- Experience leading teams in a matrixed organization
- Experience coordinating lab testing and related activities
- Preferred Skills & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field plus 5+ years relevant experience
- 5+ years of working experience in manual functional testing with hands on experience managing multiple labs
- 2+ years of working experience supervising teams in a matrixed organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, PowerBI etc.).
Special Skillset (required)
- Experience in the implementation of continuous process improvement, lean and/or six sigma methodologies in the operational environment
- A proven toolkit of operational excellence methodologies coupled with the ability to implement and drive process improvements down through all levels of the organization to improve efficiency and productivity while eliminating waste
- Ability to develop a standard set of metrics to track operational performance, drive operational discipline, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and waste elimination.
- Formal training/certification in one or more tool sets
- Experience in the Capability Model Maturity Integration (CMMI) appraisal process.
