Summary
Currently seeking a qualified full-time HVAC Supermarket Service Manager to join our progressive and charismatic team. The HVAC Service manager leads team members who install, repair, maintain, and service our supermarket customers. This manager routinely works directly with service technicians, dispatch personnel, parts manager, other managers, and the administration team to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives. The HVAC Service Manager often communicates directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of the job or project's status and requirements. The manager's key role is to support technicians in the field and management in the office and to ensure our customers' needs for service are met. The Service Manager Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional manner. Needs to multi-task in stressful conditions and have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate must have outstanding organizational skills.
Essential Job Duties
The HVAC Service Manager directs the daily operations of his/her HVAC team by successfully performing the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
- Schedules, directs and provides technical support for HVAC technicians to meet service demands and customers' expectations.
- Helps with interviews, hires, and trains HVAC technicians as required to meet workload demands, and company or custom expectations and requirements.
- Supervises and directs the HVAC technicians to effectively perform the functions of equipment repair, installations, start-up, operation, and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Review technician's work to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques, and safety requirements, and make recommendations as requirements to improve quality and productivity.
- Responsible for HVAC technician's performance appraisals, and reviews and for setting improvement goals per company and customer requirements.
- Establishes and maintains a regular training program to ensure that HVAC technicians are properly trained on the latest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions.
- Conducts group and one one-on-one meeting with technicians as required for training, Evaluation, and general communication,
- Communicates regularly with dispatch to ensure that technicians are being scheduled properly by skill level, efficiency, and training requirements.
- Communicates daily with dispatch reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labor hours, and parts or material used.
- Works with other departmental managers to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.
- Maintains requests in the HR platform for Service Technicians.
- Writes disciplinary write-ups
- Rotates the Manager on duty call schedule.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must have Five years of HVAC Management-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
- Can read, interpret, utilize, and train on manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain a safe and good driving record.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills, knowledge of common applications such as MS Word, Excell, Outlook.
- Possess a strong personal desire for improvement and desire to motivate HVAC technicians.
- Ability and willingness to work a non-standard schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays as/if required.
- Interpersonal and conflict management skills
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certification (or experience) in Commercial Refrigeration required.
- Must have Five years of HVAC Management-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects that may weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Required to climb ladders and work in that may be hard to access.
- Ability to communicate or exchange ideas using verbal or written words to impart information to clients and to convey detailed information to customers, supervisors, peers, or management.
