Sr. Applications and Project Manager
The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
Supervision
Receives general supervision from the IT Director.
Job Summary
This strategic role will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of software applications to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and strong leadership skills to drive innovation and excellence within our IT department.
Core Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide input to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software applications and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead the development and implementation of the BI strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the design and implementation of BI solutions, including data modeling, reporting, and analytics.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify BI needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Assist IT Director to track project execution and delivery and provide the input of project prioritization.
- Work with IT Director to define and implement project management methodologies, standards, and processes.
- Manage resources effectively. Provide input for planning of staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation for both applications development and project management functions.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable software solutions.
- Implement best practices for code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Essential Duties
- Recruits, interviews, hires and trains staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of direct reports.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Handles discipline and termination of employee direct reports in accordance with agency policies.
Employment Standards
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential/core job duty satisfactorily.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Skills And Abilities
- Proven experience in applications development and project management, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Knowledge of PowerBI on-premises and cloud
Preferred Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Therefore Document Management system
- Knowledge of SANDIS/UFS
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with implementing and managing Smartsheet.com PMO environment.
Essential Requirements
Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.
