We are currently recruiting for a Head of Data Management and Foundation to join our established and experienced CIO team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.
Your Role
Here at RSA we are on a journey to accelerate data driven decision making and AI capability. The Chief Data Office is responsible for maximising the value and impact of data in a highly governed way, and implementing solutions that support our commercial goals.
As Head of Data Management and Foundation you will be responsible for unlocking the power of data in evolving our data management practices across RSA within our data foundation pillar. You will work collaboratively with various departments across the business to leverage data for decision making and ensure regulatory compliance.
Your role will lead the groups Data Management Strategy, encompassing our approaches to Data Quality, Data Cataloguing, Metadata, & Lineage, Master Data Management and Reference Data, whilst developing and implementing data modelling practices. You will establish a Centre of Excellence diving adoption of data management with Agile methodology, whilst creating a Data Management Council for RSA.
You will build a team of Data Management specialists that partner with the business, technology and architecture functions across the group, managing our critical data entities across their lifecycle from the point of definition and creation to archiving and destruction.
About You
You will have comprehensive leadership experience in establishing a data fluent organisation through the design and delivery of an effective data foundation, including data governance and quality. Experience in insurance is essential for your role.
Extensive practical experience with data modelling and data architecture will be required for your role, alongside experience in data foundation and governance. You will have experience in taking stakeholders on the journey of change, being the bridge between technology and the business and influencing decisions where needed.
Given the strategic nature of the Head of Data Management Foundation position, it is essential that you possess considerable technical solutioning capabilities, including experience with data management, architecture, governance, and foundational data platforms. Additionally, experience in various data governance, quality, and cataloguing tools will be required. Experience with Databricks will be key to your role.
You will have experience of implementing Cloud based Data tooling, especially Azure. Ideally you will hold a DAMA certification.
