Job Summary:
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a DevOps Engineer 3 to support its Eligibility Supporting Technology applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for automating and streamlining integration and deployment processes, as well as ensuring alignment between IT operations and business objectives. This position involves working on CI/CD solutions, infrastructure automation, and providing environment support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and optimize batch jobs and operations.
- Implement and enhance advanced CI/CD solutions.
- Automate processes to streamline deployments and minimize errors.
- Install, configure, build, and deploy applications in support of Eligibility Supporting Technology applications.
- Analyze and improve existing technology setups and deployments for scalability and performance.
- Provide on-call triage support for production and non-production environments, including weekends and evenings.
- Document processes and procedures related to CI/CD and deployment strategies.
- Support release and sprint-related activities.
Require Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in automating the full life cycle of complex enterprise IT environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and CI/CD tools.
- Expertise in automating environments involving IBM WebSphere, MQ, Oracle products, and AWS.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable automation solutions with tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible Automation Platform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Liquibase.
- 8+ years of programming/scripting experience in languages such as Python, GoLang, Shell, Ruby, Bash, or Perl.
- Strong experience with containers and container orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and packaging tools like Helm Charts and Kustomize.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Proven experience in designing solutions using AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, EJB, JSP, JSF/Struts.
- Experience with WebSphere ND, MQ, Oracle, PL/SQL, LDAP, Splunk, Dynatrace.
Work Location & Hours:
- Primary Location: 1609 Centre Creek Drive, Austin, TX 78754 (Remote work allowed within the State of Texas).
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
