Overview:

The Industrial & Systems Engineering team delivers systems and analytics for our manufacturing team. This team works heavily with cross functional partners such as innovation & sciences, quality, maintenance, planning, finance and manufacturing to provide internal consulting support.

You will join a team of software developers and industrial engineers that are charged with designing and implementing a process-led manufacturing technology solution.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:

Your ability to work collaboratively will be valued in this role as you work broadly with many Corporate teams. We are looking for an analytic problem-solver that is willing to identify root causes and drive to solutions. You would be responsible for analyzing efficiency of manufacturing operations and changes related to personnel, material, machines and facilities. Work involves leadership ability, critical thinking and communication skills.

Qualification:

Experience with a CAD program (CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc)
Experience in the design and validation of structural components
Proven knowledge of engineering fundamentals behind passenger vehicles, especially their suspension, steering, and braking systems
A desire to apply what you know, but also question every assumption
Experience with Formula SAE Electric, Baja SAE, or other automotive team/technology

Desired Skills:

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Good communication skills and ability to work well with multiple disciplines and management levels
Project management skills to lead projects to successful conclusions
Proven Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and conditional statements
Proven problem solving & analytics aptitude

Desired Degree:

Industrial Engineer, Operations Research, manufacturing engineering, industrial/systems engineer, applied mathematics

Academic year(s) of students considered for employment: Junior

Compensation:

The compensation for this role is $25 - $26 per hour
