Internship Description
Development Business Advisors, LLC (DBA) is a boutique consulting firm based in Washington, DC, whose main focus is supporting client companies in their pursuit of contracts with the World Bank and other international development organizations. DBA serves many types of clients, including consulting, advisory, engineering, construction and suppliers. DBA provides these clients with information and advice related to project development, procurement cycle, specific procurements, polices and procedures and general trends in the international development marketplace.
DBA now seeks interns to take on a supporting role in identifying potential clients and marketing DBA’s services to them. Interns will work with a large degree of independence under the guidance of DBA’s founders. Specific responsibilities include :
· Support the continued growth of DBA by identifying potential clients, marketing to those clients, preparing proposals and onboarding clients
· Represent DBA at industry events
· Research trends in lending and grantmaking by the World Bank and other development organizations
· Compile and present data on those trends
· Develop direct relationships with staff at the World Bank and other organizations
· Prepare presentations and reports for DBA clients
· Present information to DBA clients in virtual and in-person meetings
Qualifications for this position include:
· Coursework in International Development, Marketing, Economics or a related field
· A keen interest in the practical side of international development and the implementation of projects
· Knowledge of the World Bank and similar organizations
· Experience tracking World Bank procurements and preparing or reviewing bids
· Knowledge of World Bank procurement policies and procedures
· Experience in business development, marketing and signing new clients
