As a Database Administrator I, you will be instrumental in maintaining the performance, integrity, and reliability of our enterprise data processing systems. Your role will involve overseeing our databases and partnering with multiple teams to implement enhancements that support our operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure database stability and security by validating server configurations and monitoring performance consistently.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to perform Business Continuity (BC) testing.
- Propose innovative technologies to enhance stability, functionality, and security.
- Assist in data migrations, platform installations, and upgrades.
- Keep the database environment current with necessary service packs, hotfixes, and security updates.
- Work alongside various operational teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance or stability challenges.
- Engage proactively with team members and stakeholders to provide insights derived from root cause analyses.
- Maintain data integrity by reducing duplication and preventing corruption.
- Enforce system and data retention policies to enhance resource optimization and application processing.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the department’s strategic plan and initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to ensure timely actions.
- Share your expertise and offer guidance to fellow team members.
- Lead small to moderate projects with minimal supervision.
Required Skills
- Proficient in managing SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Skilled in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries to support efficient database operations.
- Experience in securing SQL Server instances and managing user access with a focus on security best practices.
- Strong abilities in performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and server configurations.
- Solid comprehension of SQL Server integration with other systems and applications.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and exhibit project leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate incidents and devise effective solutions.
- Up-to-date awareness of new tools, features, and best practices in database management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey information clearly across all organizational levels.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in database administration is required.

Compensation And Benefits
The compensation for the Database Administrator I position ranges from \(82,000 to \)110,000 annually, with hiring rates influenced by experience, education, and geographical location.
