Role
The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for the alignment and improvement of processes and system applications to provide clinicians with effective technology for patient data, while maintaining all applicable regulations for all Chapters service lines (Care Connect, Home Health, Palliative Care, and Hospice) across the spectrum of departments. This role ensures the development of data-driven solutions to improve patient health by working closely with stakeholders across the Organization. Acts as a liaison among clinical and other staff that share application resources, interfacing with vendors or customers for software issues, and creating a streamlined workflow and improved efficiency for end users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s in Nursing or Clinical Informatics preferred
- Master’s certificate in clinical or nursing informatics preferred
- Current Florida license as RN, current active single-state out-of-state nurse license, or current active multistate/compact nurse license
- Minimum of two (2) years’ System Analyst or Health Informatics experience including data analysis and process improvement experience with progressive responsibilities
- Minimum of one (1) year of Hospice/Home Health/Palliative Care/Population Health experience
- Experience with information systems, clinical software and other computer applications
- Project management experience from initiation phase to closure phase
- Able to work in a fast paced, team environment utilizing time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment in crisis situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively articulating complex information to a variety of technical and non-technical users
- Ability to train clinical processes and systems in a servant leadership manner
- Ability to work with various staff and managers, building collaboration, positive relationships, and serving as a process improvement change agent
- Ability to understand the customer’s needs, research issues, design and deliver quality resolutions

Job Responsibilities
- Ensures clinical applications are aligned with the Organization's overall business goals and effective for end users. Develops systems documentation.
- Remains current on effective adult learning methodologies and delivery solutions in a diverse workforce environment. Develops and provides the training and documentation needs of the all Chapters service lines.
- Maintains a detailed understanding and working knowledge of clinical documentation systems within the department and Organization, including knowledge of security roles and permissions within the applications.
- Investigates and troubleshoots issues in the EHR system or other assigned technologies. Provides support for users throughout the Organization.
- Stays current on emerging trends in Health Informatics and clinical operations within the Organization. Works with vendors, staff and partners to strategize on process improvements.
- Collaborates with clinical services department(s) to identify targeted metrics to improve patient care, effectiveness of operations, and team member engagement. Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements for all deliverables.
- Develops streamlined system workflows for end users. Provides guidance to management on implementing new technologies to improve the Organization's current workflow.
- Communicates with management regarding concerns and issues surrounding the use of the EMR and other system applications that affect user experience, HIPAA, or compliance or regulatory programs. Participates on clinically focused committees and provides recommendations for planning, development and implementation of new processes within the clinical applications.
- Participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement activities, identifying the current- and future-state of business processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
