Lead M365 Architect

Responsibilities:
This position will spearhead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of Microsoft Power Platform technologies across our organization. This role will develop a governance process for citizen development, IT assisted, and enterprise application development. This role is crucial for ensuring these technologies are aligned with their business objectives, driving digital transformation, and enhancing productivity and collaboration. This person will work closely with enterprise leaders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver innovative solutions that support business processes, improve user experience, and enhance analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Creates a well-informed Microsoft M365, Power Platforms, and Azure strategy.
- Caretaker of the low-code Power Platforms strategy, communicate and coordinate effort of CoE governance team, and ensures the Microsoft Power Platform strategy is aligned with the organizational goals.
- Administers and manages the Microsoft Power Platform per the established environmental strategy, setting up policies, managing users, managing capacity, and licensing.
- Continuously updates the CoE releases and manages the TxDOT Governance Hub for Power Platform.
- Implements corresponding Power Platform changes to support and ensures that new designs conform to standards and guidelines; are consistent, normalized, and perform as required; and are secure from unauthorized access or update.
- Reviews changes, realizing their impacts on M365 and Power Platform architecture, and ensures that the impacts are communicated to appropriate parties.
- Establishes measures to chart progress related to the completeness and quality for enterprise usage; and to improve performance.
- Communicate and collaborate in a professional and timely manner.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Work closely with the Cloud Team for extended capability through the use of Azure services deployed with TxDOT Power Platform landing zone
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement through the establishment of a community of practice.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements as they relate to Power Platform.
Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on Microsoft technologies.
- SharePoint Online and/or Microsoft Power Platform administration
- Cloud computing, SaaS, and enterprise IT architecture
- Azure services and integration with other Microsoft products
- Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government)
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred
