POSITION PURPOSE: We are seeking a hospitality focused and organized individual to join our team as a Payroll/HR Coordinator. The Payroll/HR Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and processing payroll, managing employee records, and providing HR administrative support. This role ensures accuracy in payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll/HR Coordinator also assists in onboarding, benefits administration, and other HR-related tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Process weekly payrolls for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, garnishments, and tax-related information.
- Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and file payroll taxes and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Coordinate with the finance department for payroll reporting and audits.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including issuing W-2s and other tax documentation.
- Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and other changes.
- Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks.
- Facilitate employee onboarding, including processing new hire paperwork and benefits enrollment.
- Coordinate and support training sessions, employee performance reviews, and other HR initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all HR-related laws, policies, and regulations.
- Assist with compiling data for audits and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain HR metrics and reports, including headcount, turnover rates, and payroll summaries.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and HR administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Bi-lingual in English, Spanish Preferred.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to reach, bend, and stoop.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
