Downstream is disrupting the waste, construction and multifamily industry by bridging the gap between consumers and job site services via a connected marketplace. Our mission is to close the loop on America’s supply chain by transforming the waste and hauling industry through innovative technology. We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our mission in disrupting the multifamily space. You will be joining an early-stage growth focused startup with a team of entrepreneurs seeking to disrupt a multi-billion-dollar industry. Our business is fast paced and ever evolving, but with a focus on making Downstream a great place to work and grow.

As a Data Analyst, you will partner directly with our COO and other cross-functional teams, you will contribute to collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to help our organization make informed decisions. You will work closely with various departments to understand their data needs, develop and implement data analysis methodologies, and communicate findings in a clear and actionable manner. While the core of your activities will fall into the data analyst role, as a small team taking on a huge challenge, we all wear many hats and there will be many opportunities to expand beyond the core role. As one of Downstream’s first hires, you will have a front-row seat and active hand in building and shaping our trajectory.

About the Role

Collect and clean data from primary and secondary sources to prepare it for analysis.
Use statistical tools and methodologies to analyze data and identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and predictive models to support business operations.
Collaborate with different teams to understand their data requirements and deliver relevant data insights.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality control measures.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and data science.
Assist in the development and improvement of data management strategies and analytics platforms.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, finance, or a related field.

0-3 years of experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, finance, or a related field; previous experience as a data analyst or in a similar role preferred.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex data in a simple and clear manner.
Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling is a plus.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
