Scout Branding is Seeking a Mid to Senior-Level Designer

Full-Time

Graphic Designers live and breathe design, typography, color theory and composition. They’re responsible for creating stunning visuals for both print and digital media. They work closely with other designers, creative directors, copywriters and web developers to translate brand and marketing strategies into comps that render beautifully in print and code.

Job Summary:

You’ll be at the heart of all design projects collaborating closely with the creative director and account team. While brand identity and web design are central to our focus, you'll also work on a diverse range of creative tasks including motion graphics, illustration, packaging, naming, environmental design, and more.

This position will require 2 days/week of in-person working at our office in Birmingham, AL.

Our ideal candidate:

Has 3 or more years of experience designing and implementing brand identities across a range of touchpoints, ideally in an agency setting
Possesses an advanced understanding of multimedia design, including web design
Can expertly use the tools of the Adobe creative suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD, and Premiere
Can show us an impressive portfolio featuring a variety of industries and deliverables
Articulates ideas with clarity and conviction and is comfortable presenting work
Is organized, detailed-oriented and takes initiative while working with minimal supervision
Is naturally curious and passionate about the latest tools, trends and technologies in design
Expertly manages time, even when multitasking
Performs effectively in a fast-paced environment
Loves what they do and is happy at work

Depending on your experience, you may either support or lead the following aspects of the role:

Brand Identity Projects

You would work with Scout’s creative director, designers, and account team on discovery interviews, branding workshops, and design explorations to create visual brand identities. You would also work on brand identity systems, including the brand guides, associated graphics and other brand collateral.

Web & Digital Design

This candidate must be well-versed in the world of web design. You’ll work closely with your teammates to concept, map, wireframe and design custom websites that are all developed in-house.

Ongoing Partnerships and Marketing Initiatives

Whether with new or long-term client partnerships, you may take full responsibility for or contribute to ongoing design/marketing initiatives, which can include aspects of data visualization, motion graphics, editorial, illustration, packaging, environmental design and more.

Presentations

Client meetings and presentations are a necessary part of the process. You’ll be involved in creating presentations both for clients and new business prospects. Based on experience, you may be asked to lead presentations and client discussions related to ongoing projects.
