Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Machine Learning Engineer at Holmes and Associates, Inc. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for becoming expert in assessing security by running various cybersecurity attacks against ML and AI systems using techniques such as data poisoning. You will begin by working with tools and repositories from the GARD project managed by the DoD Advanced Research Program Agency (DARPA) and applying them to sample models that you lead and select. You will also apply various defense mechanisms to determine their success in repelling attacks. This work may involve implementing machine learning models, conducting data analysis and preprocessing, and optimizing algorithms. This role requires strong skills in computer science, statistics, and AI/ML algorithms. You will also contribute to thought and analysis around larger security issues related to the ML operations workflow.

Qualifications

Strong background in Computer Science and Statistics
Expertise in various types of Neural Networks
Ability to develop and optimize algorithms
Experience with data analysis and preprocessing in use today
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
Experience in digital process automation or management consulting is a plus
Previous experience with data poisoning detection or prevention is a major plus

This job will begin as a part-time job at 20 hours per week and may increase to full-time depending on project success and business developments.
