THE ROLE

Position Title: Compliance Auditor (please note this is an IT compliance role, not legal or accounting)

Number of Position Openings: 1-2 roles related to growth!

Details:

Due to continued rapid growth, we are seeking 1-2 highly motivated Compliance Auditors for immediate hire. The position offers many future advancement opportunities for a hardworking, dedicated individual focused on a long-term career with our growing company.

While this position is closely associated with the use of technology, the primary responsibilities are more related to the evaluation of our clients’ use and/or implementation of technology as it relates to various regulations specific to our clients' industries. You must be someone capable of the type of extensive document analysis and procedural scrutiny necessary for compliance auditing, as well as have a grasp of technology concepts and business acumen (e.g. cross-functional knowledge, strategic mindset, tactical application of solutions, diverse stakeholder communication skills, etc.). (Please note: this is not a legal compliance role - this is IT compliance-focused.)

Client audits conducted by this employee will be performed using proprietary methodologies developed by BAI Security, which are based on the appropriate government regulations and guidelines for our clients’ industries. As such, your projects will follow a well-defined and documented procedure from one engagement to another. Positive, professional client interactions throughout compliance audits are key to a strong relationship, so excellent communication skills and a strong orientation towards customer service are paramount.

At the conclusion of your audits, you will be responsible for preparing concise professional documentation detailing your findings. This will require excellent writing and communication skills, as these documents are routinely presented to the highest levels of management within our clients’ organizations. It is vital that you have the writing skills necessary to customize your deliverable documents to reflect the findings in a highly professional and articulate manner.

Location:

This is a fully remote position from anywhere in the continental U.S. In our commitment to work-life balance and providing our team the most positive professional experience possible, our entire workforce is fully remote! Auditors travel a few times per month, so proximity to a major airport is also important.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Knowledge of IT compliance frameworks
3 or more years direct professional experience with varied types of compliance audits and frameworks
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Knowledge of basic software applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Hard work ethic and professional/personal integrity
Desire to commit long-term and advance within a fast-growing organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Information security certification(s)
Client-facing experience
Balance of compliance auditing knowledge with business savvy (ability to build relationships, think strategically, apply policy and procedures, solve problems; industry and trend knowledge; cross-functional organizational awareness; etc.)

POSITION DETAILS

Purpose

The purpose of the Compliance Auditor is:

To comprehensively evaluate our clients’ use and/or implementation of technology and other measures toward their organization’s IT security compliance;
To use proprietary assessment methodologies based upon relevant government regulations and guidelines for our clients’ industries;
To provide custom recommendations for improving internal control structure that respect clients’ priorities, operations, and resources;
To offer ongoing partnership as a trusted security and compliance ally to our clients, before, during, and between engagements, drawing upon business and communication acumen (e.g. cross-functional knowledge, strategic mindset, tactical application of solutions, diverse stakeholder communication skills, etc.).
To ensure high service quality, client satisfaction, and the greatest prospect of return business;
To represent the organization positively externally to sustain and protect its reputation in the market and with clients, prospects, and candidates.

Duties

Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

Contacting clients before engagements to obtain necessary information
Conducting compliance audits on clients’ environments
Identifying and recommending opportunities where clients may improve their internal control structure
Completing audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings
Continually following up with clients throughout the audit process
Authoring extremely well-written/visual reports for executives and managers based upon the audit findings
Traveling up to 2 times per month throughout the U.S. for 3-4 days on each project
Other duties, as business needs dictate
