Survey Programmer - Fully Remote

American Directions Research Group is a market research firm seeking a Survey Programmer to join our team. The survey programmer is responsible for efficiently programming market research surveys that accurately collect data and provide an engaging respondent experience. In addition to programming surveys, the survey programmer monitors fieldwork progress, safeguards data quality, and works with internal client service teams to deliver quality outcomes in the form of cross tabulations and formatted data sets. The survey programmer reports to the Programming and Data Operations Team Lead and works within the larger survey programming and data operations team.

Responsibilities include:

Reviewing survey questionnaires and formulating recommendations to ensure efficient programming and optimal data layout.
Accurately programming surveys and conducting quality control checks to ensure error-free deployment and high-quality data deliverables.
Ensuring completion of projects by established deadlines.
Identifying and implementing innovative programming techniques and non-standard solutions to programming challenges.
Processing and loading sample files.
Maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality regarding programmed surveys and data deliverables.
Programming multiple surveys in parallel and delivering initial test links/changes as per established timelines.
Testing surveys and validating programming content/logic (piping, masking, skips, complex priority, quota schemes, and other logic) by conducting code review/link testing/checking simulated data.
Supporting client service team in creating custom reports.
Coordinating with the team to conduct data checks throughout the project lifecycle.
Other tasks and activities as directed.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in programming, data analytics, or a related field.
3 or more years’ experience in market research operations and/or technology.
Experience with Python, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
Experience in one or more survey programming platforms, such as Voxco, Decipher, Confirmit, Qualtrics, etc.; Confirmit experience preferred.
Proven experience in survey programming.
Understanding of research methodology and standard objectives.
Experience with learning and applying programming languages.
Team player who respects and works well with other team members.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects for on-time delivery.
Attention to detail with passion for survey programming and willingness to learn/apply new technologies.
Willingness to work a flexible or on-call schedule, which may include evening or weekend commitments.
Strong verbal and written communication, logic, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Positive and “can-do” attitude.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, relevant experience, education, and other professional credentials.
