The Cyber Security Intern will be a member of PKF O’Connor Davies’ Risk Advisory practice. This part-time, paid internship program runs from January to mid-April. This position is designed for self-motivated individuals with an insatiable appetite to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in cyber security and IT governance. This internship program will assist in further developing professional skills in the field of Information Security and Governance to include security operations, security governance, compliance management and risk management. This position will have the opportunity to better understand the different facets of an effective Cyber Security Program and gain practical experience as you work alongside information security thought leaders. You will be assigned multiple mentors to shadow as you work on various assignments.

Essential Duties

Assist in vulnerability scans and/or simulated phishing campaigns.
Assist managers with IT process walkthroughs and control testing.
Support the team in cyber security, risk assessments and report writing.

Qualifications

Enrolled in an undergraduate and/or graduate degree program in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Management of Information Systems.
Common body of knowledge: some upper-level course work on information security, some knowledge and academic/work experience on logical security domains
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational abilities.
Ability to work as a contributing member of a team.
Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
Creative and persistent problem solver.
Able to handle confidential material in a reliable manner

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.00 - $30.00/hour. Final offer amounts will be dependent upon office location as well as the individual’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
