Lexercise is the world's leading online literacy platform. Our comprehensive platform gives parents, teachers and literacy specialists the tools they need to help struggling readers at home and in the classroom. Since 2008, our mission has been to accelerate the reading, writing and spelling development of children with learning disabilities around the world. And we need your help.

Lexercise is looking for an experienced front-end developer to upgrade and expand our platform as we support a world transitioning to online learning. You will work with senior leadership to redesign and modernize our platform’s core user experience. You’ll also work with our marketing and design teams to revamp our interactive public site.

Responsibilities:

Expand and enhance our online platform using clean, maintainable HTML and CSS
Transform mock-ups and layouts from our design team into responsive web pages, forms and single-page applets
Work directly with therapists, teachers and our customers to build a service that excites and inspires them
Expand and enhance our public site to better explain our services and engage our visitors

Experience

Required:

3+ years of front end web development
Core contributor on at least two major web projects

Ideal:

Experience working effectively with a remote team
Experience in education or games industries

Education:

Four-year degree in related field

Skills

Required:

Mastery of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Solid understanding of web and mobile standards, including responsive design and UX
Experience with modern web development frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap, React, etc.)
Familiarity with Linux and command-line development
Ability to manage your time, and prioritize your responsibilities to meet deadlines

Desired:

Familiarity with Illustrator/Photoshop
Experience developing in PHP
Understanding of Wordpress theme and plugin development
Experience writing object-oriented code
Understanding of REST and modern API-based services
