Job Purpose: As an Embedded Software Engineer at Sceye, you will play a pivotal role in developing and integrating cutting-edge software and hardware components for our new airships. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or physics, and hands-on experience with embedded systems programming. Your contributions will be key to ensuring our systems operate seamlessly and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:

Craft and integrate software and hardware components for our advanced embedded systems.
Write clean, efficient C or Rust code for bare-metal applications and C/C++ code for Linux environments.
Create and maintain bash scripts to streamline system automation and management.
Design and build network applications using Unix Sockets and SocketCAN protocols.
Optimize system performance with 32-bit microcontrollers and cross-compiling tools.
Integrate components to ensure compatibility and functionality, applying RF knowledge for troubleshooting.
Utilize advanced test instrumentation like DMMs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers for system validation.
Collaborate with a talented, cross-functional team to drive project success.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems engineering required; 5 years preferred, to effectively navigate and resolve complex issues encountered in low-level embedded systems.
Expertise in communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-422, and CAN.
Proficiency in C or Rust for bare-metal applications and C/C++ for Linux environments.
Experience with bash scripting, network applications, and protocols like Unix Sockets and SocketCAN.
Hands-on experience with 32-bit microcontrollers and cross-compiling tools.
Ability to integrate hardware and software into cohesive systems.
Basic understanding of RF principles and their application in embedded systems.
Skilled in using test instrumentation for effective debugging and validation.

Nice to Have:

Experience with low-bandwidth satellite communication systems.
Proficiency in Python programming.
Familiarity with Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone platforms.
