Project Description

The human-centric AI lab in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Dr. J. Herbert Smith Center is seeking to hire a Master's (MScE) student to work on a project in human-agent interaction at the University of New Brunswick. The focus is on development of deep learning solutions for natural communication between human and AI agents for social tasks.

This is a fully-funded position. The selected student will have the opportunity to access high-end research equipment for computing and virtual reality in the lab and work in a open and collaborative research atmosphere with excellent support from inter-disciplinary experts. Their research will be supported through deep learning courses offered at the department.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a background in Engineering or Computer Science.
Skills in robotics, deep learning, and/ or computer vision are required.
Applicants with hands-on experience in ROS and MATLAB are highly encouraged to apply.
Available to start in January 2025 (or as soon as possible).
