The vital role of proteins in understanding human biology has been recognized for many decades, but technological limitations severely restricted the comprehensive investigation of the huge number of proteins that could be important in different biological processes and diseases. With Olink, scientists can now simultaneously measure thousands of human proteins using just a few µL of blood sample, with highly specific, thoroughly validated assays that cover a very wide dynamic range (fg/mL to µg/mL).

Position Description

We are currently seeking a Data Scientist for our Data Science Customer Applications team in North America. The team provides statistical services, tools, and consultation to our North American and some APAC customers. The 8 members of the team are distributed across the US and Canada, working remote.

Primary Responsibilities

Offer statistical service to customers
Help in trouble shooting customer data.
Offer study design, data analysis and statistical consultation to customers.
Organize and participate in customer meetings, workshops, and trainings.
Develop and maintain analysis methods and data products for use in customer applications.
Stay up-to-date on, apply and develop cutting-edge data analysis methods and statistical techniques.
Participate in internal meetings related to customer services
Maintain and improve processes for data analysis, data delivery and reporting in customer projects.
Facilitate customer adoption and effective use of Olink data.

Qualifications/Skills

Bsc, MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Molecular Biology or similar.
Relevant industry OR academic experience on a PhD level of advanced data analysis and statistics, in the Life Science sector
Programming skills in R. Knowledge in RMarkdown and Git is an advantage.
Experience in applying statistical methods in medical or biological research, especially with data from high throughput technologies in proteomics and genomics.
Demonstrated strong ability to work across different teams and disciplines.
The ability to engage and influence customers and explain statistical and analytical techniques and considerations to non-technical peers. 
Strong analytical mind and an interest in modern statistical and data analysis methods, for example machine learning.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work with minimal guidance.
Professional English is a must, if you happen to know Japanese it’s a bonus.

Please observe that we are not able to assist with relocations or sponsor any visas at this point in time. Please note that this is a remote position but you need to be placed in either the US or Canada, preferably east coast and you need to be able to work EST hours.
