The Ideal Candidate

Ready with the right experience, expertise, and personal drive to be a core engineer at a rapidly growing fintech with a big vision
Be able to solution features and capabilities within the platform, with good code quality and velocity.
Be prepared to take on responsibilities such as implementing integrations with third-party systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and developing APIs, and contributing to system improvements.

Responsibilities

Write clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code - and participate in code reviews
Actively participate and lead in daily team activities, providing your valuable insights
Design and develop APIs, both for internal and external use, to streamline inter-system access while upholding the highest standards of security
Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, including Product, QA, and Customer Success, tracking progress on team boards
Conduct quality code reviews of fellow engineers’ requests, learning what others are doing while enabling the team to accomplish the goal at hand
Conduct unit, system, and security testing, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies in collaboration with team members
Engage with end users and customers to gather feedback and iterate on product enhancements
Uphold code integrity and data security standards, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
Requirements *

Must Have

Bachelor's degree, ideally in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
3-5 years of experience as a software engineer
5+ years of experience in application architecture, design, and development, particularly with Node.js frameworks (NestJS, Express JS, etc.).
3+ years of experience in developing client-facing front-end applications using a modern web framework, Angular preferred.
Experience with relational databases like Postgres
Familiarity and experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Build Systems.

Nice to have

Familiarity with AWS DevSecOps processes, knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and experience with SOC2 Compliance.
Experience designing and building event-driven services using Amazon Web Services.
Experience with a headless CMS, specifically Strapi. Experience working at a start-up.
Domain Knowledge:
HR tech, along with experience in HCM data models and integrations with payroll and HCM systems (ADP, UKG, Workday).
Fintech, experience with core banking and fintech concepts such as Banking as a Service (BaaS), integrations and payments.

Compensation

$80k-$100k (USD) Base Salary
Competitive equity (Restricted Stock Awards, which are better than options!)
