Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Content Specialist. The content specialist will use extensive knowledge & experience in content marketing to develop an engaging & robust content strategy and content calendar. The Content Specialist focuses on research and best practices to define desired target audiences, develop compelling messaging, manage the content creation & publishing process, and monitor content metrics to determine the most effective strategies. To ensure success, the Content Specialist should show a keen eye for detail, express ideas & designs that exhibit creativity, and be able to work with a great deal of autonomy. A skilled Content Specialist should also be an expert storyteller and possess abundant knowledge of contemporary social media, communications, marketing, and content trends. This knowledge should inform the development of a comprehensive content strategy and its subsequent execution. This role requires extensive working knowledge of a range of communications channels, including social media platforms, email marketing, Content Management Systems (CMS), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and print & digital advertising. This position will touch content across the organization including CAP, Prism Health, Our House of Portland and other programs.

This full-time position reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and will work at CAP’s Portland, Davis Street office. This position will have the option of working a hybrid remote work schedule. The typical work schedule for this position is 8:30am – 5:00pm during Monday through Friday. This position also supports the activities of the Development & Community Engagement department through participating in team meetings, retreats, and special events, which will require some evening and weekend work.

Starting pay is $59,268 a year. The Content Specialist’s pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $67.068. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

Who You Are

Associate’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field OR 2+ years of professional on-the-job experience working in content creation, graphic design, media production, and print & digital advertising.
A portfolio of professional work showcasing digital media, content, and design.
Extensive Social Media marketing and strategy experience.
Basic HTML & CSS experience.
Basic photography & video production experience.
Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Squarespace, Wordpress, or Wix.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, & Adobe Premiere Pro.

What You’ll Do

Regularly meet with the members of the Development & Community Engagement team, contractors, and other agency leaders to ideate and define content goals.
Research content and trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop audience maps, audience personas, and other strategic marketing assets.
Collaborate with the Events & Development team to support the production of event communications and marketing assets. o Develop well-researched, engaging, and effective content strategies and editorial calendars to share the work of CAP and our family of brands both internally and externally.
Create & produce multimedia content for a variety of platforms including blogs, websites, advertising, and social media.
Proofread and edit content before publishing, ensuring adherence to brand voice and language standards.
Manage content calendars and ensure content remains consistent across platforms.
