Role Description

Position: Freelance and Contract American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter

Location: Remote (Preference given to candidates located near Massachusetts)

Rate: $50 - $100 per hour (Based on experience and geographical location)

We are seeking professional ASL interpreters to join our dynamic team on a project-by-project basis. The role involves providing high-quality interpretation services to facilitate communication for our diverse client base.

Responsibilities:

Provide accurate ASL interpretation for various settings, including medical, legal, and community.
Facilitate clear and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing clients and service providers.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and guidelines.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities provided by MAPA Translations.

Qualifications:

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
Proven experience in ASL interpretation, preferably in medical, legal, or community settings.
Certification or training in ASL interpretation (e.g., RID, NAD) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a timely manner.
Familiarity with remote interpretation platforms and tools.
